Harvey Milk To Receive Presidential Medal Of Freedom, E. Lynn Harris Autopsy Results, Albania To Legalize Gay Marriage, Madonna Celebration

Harvey Milk will posthumously receive the highest civilian honor available to an American citizen, the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The award will be given out at a ceremony at the White House on August 12th, at which time President Obama will present Harvey’s nephew Stuart Milk with the medal.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has released the conclusions of an autopsy performed on E. Lynn Harris, determining that Harris died last Thursday of heart disease, complicated by a hardening of the arteries and high blood pressure. He was 54. Harris was in Los Angeles on a book tour promoting his newest novel Basketball Jones, when he took ill, collapsing in his hotel room.

Albania, somewhat surprisingly, has announced that it intends to legalize gay marriage. Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that “despite the debate the law might provoke, discrimination is unacceptable.”

The complete Celebration, Madonna’s new single from the forthcoming greatest hit collection of the same name, has leaked; the Material Girl turned Yoga Mother returning to a gayer club sound of old.
