Canadian Conservative MP Brad Trost Reminds You He And His Hates Gays

Canadian Conservative Member of Parliament Brad Trost, who represents the riding of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, has given an interview to the American based fringe right-wing anti-abortion web site Lifesitenews.com, in which he says that the federal funding allotted to the Toronto Pride festivities – four-hundred thousand dollars – was not a decision by supported by himself or by a majority of Conservatives, because it contradicted the caucuses “strong pro-traditional marriage” stance.

Trost said that the “pro-life and pro-family community should know and understand that the tourism funding money that went to the gay pride parade in Toronto was not government policy, was not supported by – I think it’s safe to say by a large majority – of the MPs.” Trost added that the parade is “more political than touristic in nature,” and since the funding came from the Marquee Tourism Events Program, Pride would not have met the criteria; a criteria, incidentally that the Calgary Stampede did. The last point is important since Lifesitenews.com claims that the Toronto Pride Parade “is notorious for its inclusion of full frontal nudity and public sex acts by homosexuals,” arguably a half truth, but a characteristic shared by the Stampede nonetheless.

Mr. Trost suggests that the funding to Toronto Pride cost MP Diane Ablonczy, who represents the riding of Nose Hill in Calgary, Alberta, the tourism portfolio, and in fact she has been removed from heading the Marquee Tourism.
