President Obama Plans To Extend Benefits To Gay Federal Employees

Breaking news: President Obama is scheduled to announce tomorrow morning, Wednesday, that the Administration will begin extending benefits, including health care to the partners of gay and lesbian federal employees. The announcement comes after an avalanche of recent criticisms directed towards the reluctance of Obama to be seen supporting gay rights, including not fulfilling a campaign promise to repeal the military ban on gays serving openly and the Administration’s apparent commitment to the Defense of Marriage Act.
