As articulate and thoughtful as one could be, Judy Shepard released a statement Thursday morning via the Matthew Shepard Foundation website, refusing and refuting an offer made by one Mario Lavandeira, aka Perez Hilton, to donate to the Matthew Shepard Foundation, any and all proceeds Perez might make from a civil lawsuit pending, the aftermath of an incident that took place in the early hours of Monday morning, in Toronto, Ontario, at an after part for the Much Music Video Awards.
Mrs. Shepard says that despite the generosity of the offer – an offer, incidentally, that was made unbeknownst to anyone at the Foundation, appearing suddenly this morning on Hilton’s blog – “because the lawsuit presumably involves the physical attack prompted by Mr. Hilton’s admitted use of an anti-gay slut, the Foundation will be unable to accept any funds obtained in such a manner.”
Hilton, meanwhile, continues the charade that he is of this world, posting an obscenity on the then breaking news that Michael Jackson had suffered a heart attack. The post has since been edited, after an outcry of protests, but the original – too offensive for words- is here, posted only as evidence.
While the Los Angeles County Coroner at this hour performs an autopsy on Michael Jackson, a number of celebrities, including Britney Spears, Cher, Lisa Marie Presley, Madonna, and Elizabeth Taylor, express their condolences.
Some pictures from an improvised fan memorial that has been created in front of the Jackson family home in Encino, California.
Patrick Wolf, currently on tour, talks about the new album, The Bachelor, and the influence the great, late director Derek Jarman and Jarman’s muse Tilda Swinton, continues to have over Wolf. And at a recent concert in New York City, Patrick, who has never formally come out, took on Proposition 8 and the abject absence of equal rights for gay men and women in the United States.
