In the aftermath of last Sunday’s murder of Doctor George Tiller, the idea of free speech, absent of any ethical consideration, is once again up for debate, with accusations that the far right – notably Bill O’Reilly – and the often inflammatory rhetoric employed is dangerous irresponsible and contributed in part to Tiller’s killing, rendering O’Reilly and his ilk criminally complicit.
Congratulation to Roger Federer on winning the French Open, finally, and with the win he can claim to the sport’s Triple Crown. The win was anything but ordinary, not merely that his competitor was not the persistent Rafael Nadal, but an unknown Swiss player, Robin Soderling, but also for the odd hat in hand of an intruder to the court and then on the head of Federer.
Nadal meanwhile, eliminated rather shockingly after winning the Open four years in a row, spent the day in Mallorca, swimming, sunning, and smoking sexy.
Ed Westwick, caught cheating on boyfriend Chace Crawford, out and about Saturday along side “girlfriend” Jessica Szhor, conveniently his co-star, Ed once again easing his way into a pair of terribly tight trousers.
Robert Pattison and Tom Sturridge are apparently friends only because the two agree to dress alike.
Zachary Quinto, sans moustache, but wearing a rainbow colored tee shirt, makes his way around Mexico City.
