Dustin Lance Black Ballyhoo Now With Even More Misinformation

Not to contribute to the silliness, but again, someone keeps sending me – repeatedly – information, including providing a kind of forensic photographic analysis that one Jeff DeLancy is the other man in the leaked pictures taken from an alleged video of a sexual roundelay with Dustin Lance Black. DeLancy denies the allegations, and in truth, I would not post about the matter save for the ludicrous details, reported with a kind of nauseating hysteria which are as follows.

Apparently last weekend, when the sex scandal story broke, a thread starting on a community board at an online gay sex site linked a secondary story from something called gaypornblog that tells, rather awkwardly, a tale of one Jeff DeLancy, a former Arizona State University student, who, under an alias, “Cameron,” ran a web site called FratBoyCam.com for the past five years, and who was dating Lance, and –this is where it become beyond believable – suggested, causally, as one is want to do when one runs a porn site, that the twosome engage in fun for public consumption. In other words, Lance agreed to be taped, knowing it was likely to be released at some date, for financial gain. It all, you know, makes perfect sense.

Jeff, who is “Cameron” and did in fact run the site, which has since gone offline, denies all of it, and is in hiding, but breathless “sources” say more is to, um, come.

I understand how the salacious sells and star fucking – both literally and figuratively – is the source of most anything you can name, from MTV to A&E to Perez Hilton to Twitter, but, um, reality called and it seems you all left it behind, and it would like to be picked up at your earliest convenience. You’re not going to be hooking up with Lance or Diablo Cody (another Oscar winning writer) anytime soon, and while fantasies, especially ones involving very cute men like Lance are more than normal, it is, um, private, all of it, and should remain that way. What ever the truth might have once been, it, along with respect is an obvious causality.
