Alberta Minister Chooses Calgary Train Station Over Edmonton Pride, Gay Penguin Dads, Big Brother Charlie Is Gay, Heroes Gets Gay, Ryan Phillippe

After helping to pass the politically awkwardness that is Bill 44, Alberta’s Cultural and Heritage Minister Lindsay Blackett, a Conservative, who had accepted an invitation to attend Edmonton’s Gay Pride Parade next Saturday, Blackett has opted instead to be in Calgary, at the opening of a Light Rail Transit station. Blackett was unavailable for comment, but a Department spokesperson said the decision had nothing to do with the backlash against Bill 44 – which in part constitutionally sanctions discrimination against gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and the transgendered – and everything to do with Mr. Blackett ‘s love of modes of transportation. He really, really loves trains! Service Alberta Minister Heather Klimchuck will take his place and become the first Conservative member of the Legislature to participate in an Edmonton Pride parade.

A German zoo is reporting that two gay male penguins are raising a chick from an egg that was abandoned by its mother. The couple – Z and Vielpunkt – are two of three gay males currently in captivity at the Bremerhaven Zoo.

The British Big Brother franchise began its tenth season – itself a fact so depressing – and already the press and public have found the player they love to hate – unemployed lesbian punk rocker Lisa. Brazilian Rodrigo is cute and likely gay, although we (or I more aptly) can officially out the very cute Charlie, seen here with a naked bottom on the first episode and seen here nearly naked as the winner of the 2007 Newcastle leg of Mr. Gay UK.

The very cute Rachel Melvin – formally of Days of Our Lives is joining Heroes next year for season four and it is rumoured that she her character will be out and will be Claire’s lover.

Ryan Phillippe – the most beautiful man alive – was up early Saturday morning, being the Hall of Fame DILF that he is, helping coach son Deacon’s Little League game in Los Angeles. Seriously, how much more attractive could he possibly make himself to me?
