New York State Assembly Passes Gay Marriage Legislation, Carrie Prejean And The Donald Offer Keith Olbermann A WTF Moment, Bears Spotted In New York

As expected, the New York State Assembly voted to pass legislation legalizing gay marriage 89-52. The bill now moves to the Senate, where efforts from proponents and opponents of gay marriage will likely be amped up. Interestingly, while the result of Tuesday’s vote was seen as de facto, a number of members of the Assembly who voted against similar legislation in 2007, voting for, including five Republicans, indicating, I think, a real sea change.

Keith Olbermann introduces a new segment on Countdown: the WTF moment, and fittingly it involves Sister Carrie Prejean and the Donald drama, Keith articulating the whole WTF-ness of what seems to be the never ending story of our lives.

Tim Murphy – New York Magazine’s man on the street – needs his own 24 hour, 7 day a week web channel, just because he is Tim Murphy and just because I have fallen a little and a lot in love with Tim. In the meantime, Tim’s weekly segment must suffice, with this week’s installment finding Mr. Murphy unearthing a big bear picnic in Central Park.
