New England A Harbor For Gay Equality, Rhode Island Holdout, Boy George Released From Prison, Channing Tatum, Joan Rivers Is Your Celebrity Apprentice

Do regional differences exist in New England that make the northeastern area of America an ideal for accepting and fostering equal rights for gay men and women? The region is often identified as an area where the separation of church and state is obvious, where higher education is the norm, and where the population is mostly white, but are those characteristics really determining factors in the extraordinary changes seen in only the last year in the area?

The exception to the New England rule might be tiny Rhode Island, the notoriously Catholic state, where the battle to bring gay marriage into law will likely be a hard fought one.

Boy George, looking remarkably clean and healthy, was released from prison Monday morning, let go early for good behavior. Boy, whose real name is George O’Dowd, was convicted in December of last year for falsely imprisoning a male prostitute, and was sent to jail on January 16th to serve a fifteen month sentence, of which he served four month, but upon his release will be required to wear an ankle monitor as well as abide by a curfew.

Manscaping is fine, but Channing Tatum tends to take hair removal to another, almost frightening level.

Joan Rivers was awarded the Celebrity Apprentice title Sunday night, besting someone named Annie Duke, who plays cards for a living, and the only reason I mention this is because Joan – always a friend to the gay – was playing for the charity Gods Love We Deliver, which offers aid to those living with HIV/AIDS. With her victory, our Joan raised over five-hundred thousand dollars for the tremendous organization who has been in operation since late 1985.
