Equality California Campaign, Note From Gay Marriage Debate Frontline, Tim Gunn, Kanye West Wardrobe, Shia Sighting, Jim Parsons Speaks Remains Sexy

While the California Supreme Court continues to review legal challenges to Proposition 8, Equality California, not waiting until the decision is announced, will launch a new grassroots campaign Monday in an effort to win marriage back in the state by wisely personalizing the struggles of the gay community, placing a face to gay men and women, making real their lives, consequently making it more difficult for anti-gay forces to demonize homosexuals. A substantial component of the campaign is a series of television advertisements that will run statewide, a preview of two are available here, along with information on you can help secure the right to marry in the Golden State.

The Atlantic Monthly.com published an interesting email from a reader Thursday, describing a public meeting for Ward 4 in Washington, D.C. where gay marriage was up for debate. Ward 4 is reportedly the most diverse community in all of Washington, and as the reader writes the local sentiment for gay marriage – and by extension equal rights for gays – is sincere and strong, and likely to flourish if not tampered with by national forces. The battle in Washington, D.C. easily connects to that in California and elsewhere in America, underlining the need for gay African-Americans to step to the forefront and help place a face to the struggle for equality.

If film, literature, and music have copyright laws offering protection, why not fashion, at least that is the question asked by Project Runway’s Tim Gunn, who, along with Steven Kolb, executive director of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, went to Washington Wednesday to lobby politicians to seeking to gain support for a proposed bill: the Design Piracy Prohibition Act.

Does Kanye West’s fashion sense encourage homophobia or is what he wears a less than silent plea that he wishes to come out?

Guess which Hollywood hobo, flashing their red Calvin Klein underwear as per usual, was out and about Thursday with their supposedly sexy mother in tow?

Guess which Hollywood geek sexy superstar talks to TV Guide and is effortlessly so sexy and so sweet all at once? Jim Parsons, silly, who else?
